Satumarin, a SMECorp 5-star rated local offshore company which specializes in oil and gas logistics services has just inked a deal with Singapore’s Marine Nexus to offer maritime expertise to the online shipping platform’s international clientele of vessel owners.
The memorandum of understanding, which took place on 28 September, was witnessed by Petronas president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin and industry peers during the Malaysia Oil and Gas Services Exhibition and Conference 2016, local English news daily The Star reports.
According to a statement released by Satumarin, the company’s partnership with Marine Nexus is a strategic move to leverage on the online shipping platform’s users, who are mainly vessel providers and procurers and connect to services offered by Satumarin.
The partnership heralds a new chapter in Satumarin’s illustrious background as it will gain access to Marine Nexus’ over 400 global clients via the online platform.
“As we begin this journey, we hope that with the support and input from the industry, we can start to build a platform that leverages the power of the internet to help everyone, be it owners or brokers or buyers or charterers, as it would reduce their prospecting costs through this difficult times.
“With our platform, we will help make marketing more targeted, more efficient and more effective, helping shipping businesses become more sustainable into the future,” Marine Nexus chief executive officer Eric Chean said in the statement.
Satumarin has been undertaking surveys, inspections and audits of vessels and facilities worldwide since its incorporation in 2010 and is looking to expand into Brunei, Indonesia and Myanmar.
Satumarin was recentlly recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in Malaysia as the firm received the 7th SME 100 Fast Moving Companies Award in 2015.
