Satumarin plans regional expansion

KUALA LUMPUR: Boosted by the recognition given at the recent 7th SME 100 Fast Moving Companies Award 2015, Satumarin Sdn Bhd, an oil and gas service provider, plans to expand its business in the Asean region.

“We feel very privileged that our hard work and effort is being recognised in the oil and gas sector.

“Our company has definitely grown so much in five years, and winning this award has definitely given us the boost to do better.

“We are proud to hold more than 70% market share in the offshore marine pilotage services alone.

“Although challenged by the current market downturn in the oil and gas businesses, we are thankful that our business is able to strive and persevere due to our business diversification,” said it acting managing director Capt Ahmad Imran Mohd Azmi.

Looking ahead, Satumarin plans to expand its business presence in South-East Asia, particularly in Brunei, Indonesia and Myanmar.

Currently, the company is teaming up with a local higher learning institution to develop remote operating vehicles for inspection purposes.

Presented by SME Magazine and Business Media International, SME 100 ranks the top and fast moving companies based on 60% quantitative and 40% qualitative criteria.
